Welcome »

International Society for VibroAcoustics (ISVA) was formed in 1987 by Olav Skille (Norway), late Petri Lehikoinen (Finland), Tony Wigram and Lyn Weekes ((Both England) and Margaret Daniell (Germany/Australia) to create an effective forum for exchange of ideas and progress in understanding how VibroAoustic Therapy may function and in which fields it can be practically applied.

However, after 1989 ISVA went into  hibernation  because of extreme busy preoccupations of all the founders with teaching and research assignments for their respective employers. Meanwhile, the concept of vibroacoustics has spread remarkably to every continent of the world and researchers/therapists started taking active interest in developing necessary  equipment for  VibroAoustic Therapy

Efficacy of the therapy has now been statistically proved through several research projects in Europe, USA and Asia. Therapy equipment have already gained the status of approved medical device in many countries. But in absence of a  basic and universally standardised foundation from which  therapists can work, there is now a growing need for a common terminology and nomenclature.

ISVA is now being revived  to take proactive steps in this direction. It may act as a  global platform for active therapists providing VibroAcoustic Therapy of any form. It will be a forum for professional exchange of ideas, results and experiences
